Iv just bought one from PC world. Its a Packard Bell one that comes with a remote control. You can hook up a TV ariel / Sky box and video inputs to do what you need to do, and comes with all the software youll ever need for video editing. It costs only 30, but at the moment its 19.99. Hope this helps.

A word of warning;

I bought a TV card for this purpose and the results are far from DVD quality!

I paid about 50 from my card if i remember rightly. i am not saying it cant be done, i might have a bad one, just warning you before you make the same mistake as i did.

I read an article a few weeks back in the sunday times where someone asked the very same question, they recommended some box of gadgets that sold for around 100 if i remember rightly, but i cant remember what it was called, Im afraid.

Well, you can't expect DVD quality from a VHS source, and when you compare the results with a DVD you will really notice the difference. However, if you are happy with that, you can get pretty good result with even a cheap card. Try this site for lots of information:
