I`m trying to connect my laptop to my TV to view videos etc., but without success. I havs s-video and vga out ports, neither of which seem to work. How can I check whether my pc video card has TV out capability?

the S video will work but you need to turn it on.

Look for a key (probably one of the F keys at the top) with a little pic of a monitor on it or something like lcd/crt, hold down the FN key and press that to switch the S-video output on.

Many thanks yet again, Chuck. It`s still not working, but my s-video lead is old and may be damaged. I`ve ordered a new one. I`ll report later how I get on.
Don't forget that you'll also need to switch the input source of the telly to match the socket that you've plugged the laptop into
and also remember that the S-video cable will only give you video, you need another cable for the audio.

Yes, thanks, rojash, I`ve noted that. I found an old composite cable and it does work with this, though the image quality is not too good. I`m hoping that the new component RGB lead I`ve ordered will do the trick.
Re - the sound, Chuck, I assume connecting the PC headphone out to the TV component sound in?
Many thanks again.
