AVG 9 free edition.

On my main computer running XP I was alerted to download the AVG's latest version before sometime in December, which I did.
Later I had need to use my lap-top running Vista, but although I was on it some time, I wasn't given the same opportunity to upgrade AVG 8 to AVG 9 free edition.
Why was this please?
