Last night, I downloaded & installed the free edition of AVG Anti Virus programme. My computer had so many viruses on it, but AVG checked & obliterated them all but 7! However, every time I try to delete any of the many unwanted emails/attachments, my screen goes blank & I have to keep switching off & restarting my pc . Please help!!

Don't know if this will work, but it's worth a try. Do a search for .dbx which will show you the path to where the mail is stored on your particular operating system. You can probably delete them straight from the (inbox?) folder.

Thanks wildwood, but the only way of retrieving any of my e-mails was to delete the AVG programme from my pc! It's working ok now (well so far!). Cheers anyway.
