Uploading photos from a digital camera

Can anyone tell me why, whenever I upload recently taken photos onto the computer from a Digital camera, that all the pictures that are already on the memory card get uploaded, not just the recent ones? This is so frustrating at times, as there are a couple of hundred pictures on there.

When you upload look thru the photos on your screen, there is usually a box you can tick so you can just select the photos you want. Otherwise you might find at the end of the all photos, a box which says you can untick all the photos, do this and just tick the photos you want. Hope this is OK, its from my memory !

'cause the chip has all the photos still on it. delete the uploaded photos from the camera chip.
