I used to be able to click on the Firefox icon and get as many screens as I wanted. Now I can only use one.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled but it made no difference. Also if I close Firefox I cannot open it again without restarting my computer. When I do shut down I usually get a small box which says it is shutting down Firefox.
I have clicked on "Firefox Setup" and been told that Firefox was running. ???
I am using XP SP3 on a Dell Dimension 5000
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I don't fully understand your question. Does Firefox open? What do you mean by screens? Does CTRL + T help?
Also - is there an icon in your Quick Launch Bar to start the program?

If not then drag the desktop icon there. Might make starting easier. Hold down CTRL At the same time to preserve the icon
