Can someone remind of the way you work out what size fuse you require in a domestic plug.I know it's connected to the wattage of the appliance,but thats about it.

wattage = voltage x amps

1000 watts = 230 x amps

therefore amps (fuse size) = 1000 divided by 230 = approx. 4 amps

so use 5 amp fuse
