At one stage today the mouse cursor on the screen in all it's styles, started to shake/wobble/vibrate.

Can anyone tell me the reason for this?

Your mouse is possibly on the way out. Have you tried a new one?
I agree. If it's the old rollerball type it's probably got clogged up with dust and gunk which sometimes stops the ball from moving freely and causes this 'vibration'. Best to get a new optical mouse - you can pick them up for about a fiver.

Thanks for your answers, but I already have a fairly new optical mouse.
What sort of surface do you use it on? they can be little touchy about some sorts of patterned surfaces especially if they are glossy.
