Looking for recommendations for a good spam filter which will stop me getting bombarded with emails from Canadian medication sources and various others telling me I've won huge cash prizes. I use Outlook and my machine operates XP professional.

spamfighter does a reasonable job for a freeby.
This is the program most widely recommended for dealing with spam:

The best spam filter is ditch your current email address and setup 2 or 3 new ones

one for close friends/family or trusted long term things

one for untrusted things (signing up for any random website etc)

and if you want or need it one to post openly on websites

The second two you can throw away and setup new ones if they get over loaded with spam. The first one, as long as you are careful about giving it out will remain spam free.
agree chuck - if spam filters work - you wouldn't be getting any - ISPs hate spam more than you do - if they could ... they would
I'd try Mailwasher too.

If you can, consider using another email service like Gmail. It's free to use, and comes with its own excellent spam filters (better than any others I've used), so you don't have to bother setting them up yourself.
