Can anyone recommend a good free spam filter for Outlook please.

One at the server-side is a better idea. If possible use Gmail instead of whatever you're using now. (You can still use it with Outlook, as they offer POP and IMAP access.)

Or, Thunderbird is a better client than Outlook, with a good spam filter.
