Hi. I often read that it is advisable to use only one anti-virus on computer.

Does the same rule apply to Spyware/Malware?

Currently I have AVG Free (excellent) and Malwarebytes.

It's best to have no spyware or malware at all.

On the other hand, if you meant anti spyware and malware, most people use more than one. I use MalwareBytes Anti-Malware.

and SpyBot Serach and Destroy.

The same rule doesn't really apply to anti spyware/malware applications, unless of course they have some sort of active guard that has to run in the background to protect you (most of which don't unless you pay for them).

AVG Free and Malwarebytes is an excellent combination providing you keep them updated and do a full system scan with each at least once a week.
