I can't enter any cheats on Simpsons Hit And Run for Pc!

When I attempt to enter a cheat on Simpsons Hit & Run, It crashes straight away and I have to use Task manager to close it down.

Im running Vista Home Basic.

Please post answers as im desperate to use these cheats!
