Show Desktop Icon

The show desktop shortcut icon has disappeared from the bottom left of my laptop.

Can anyone tell me how to put it back.

Click on..... ...Start....All Programs....
From the list....choose the item you have lost...
Right click on it and and choose....
Send to.....
Desktop....

has all the icons dissapeared or just that one?

if it's all of them right click on your task bar and select toolbars > quicklaunch

if it's just the show desktop icon it's a little more complicated.

If some of the shortcut disappeared from desktop so don't worry you can copy all of them from using Start >> programs and Select your proffered programs which you want on your desktop as a shortut..
