Problems joining answerbank?

Hi,

My wife and daughter have both tried to join answerbank recently, but after joining they click on the link that is emailed to them to validate their membership and they get the following error message;

ADODB.Command error '800a0d5d'
Application uses a value of the wrong type for the current operation.
/Toolkit/answ.asp, line 1045

This stops them posting any messages. My wife has posted the same question 3 times over as many days, and none have shown, although it shows as 3 questions asked in her profile?

She tried contacting AB itself but got no reply?

Any ideas?

i dont no wot they cud do, but perhaps they cud jus use ur settings, unless they have something to hide from you!!!
Eh, montyy? It could be that your computer is trying to run a script from Answerbank and can't. It could also be that the cipher strength on your web browser is 64-bit, rather than 128-bit. This is for encrypting data, but I don't know if answerbank uses this sort of technology in their resistration process. If it is this, then you'd have to update your browser.

Thanks for your reply Tweed,

I dont think this is the case as there was no problem when I joined, using the same computer?

Butr thanks anyway.

Maybe there is a problem with the AB servers at the moment as my wife didnt get a reply from them when she contacted them direct for help.

Thank you also, monty, for trying to answer but i think there is something wrong with your keyboard!!

Looks like a script error is the asp file in AB (maybe to do with logging your details).  Do you all sign in and sign out on the same computer?

Have AB come back to you yet? or have they managed to post anything?

Doghandler, I've sussed your problem! Because I have just have the same thing with my better half trying to register.
If you look at the link they send to validate their membership, for some reason the word 'your' has been included at the end of the link. Paste the link into your browser, and delete the word 'your' from the end of the address. And it should work.
