I have bought 2 Epson C44 printers recently and both have stopped working - one after 6 months and the other after 9 months. The message says 'parts within the printer have reached the end of their life'. Any ideas what the problem might be. I am using compatible cartidges.

This happened to my Epson C42, when I rang Epson it was explained that it had reached the end of it's life and was probably the fact that the pad under the ink cartridge cleaner was full.  I had been refilling my cartridges in an effort to save money but they had been leaking slightly so it cost me a new printer.  I stripped the old printer down and could see no way of replacing the pad or re-programming the printer memory.  So it looks like you will have to buy a new one.
