How do you activate system features that are ghosted out, eg the advanced features within the volume control which should allow you to modify bass & treble?

I usually find that features that are ghosted out are not available due to the hardware drivers not having that capability. Therefore if you think that your hardware is capable of doing something such as controlling bass and treble, try getting an updated driver. There are various sites on the net for drivers.
