Hi Guys -
Sky came round today to install my new HD box. I cannot have a second feed from the dish installed (I live in a flat).
I can record what i am watching fine, with no problems. My problem is, is that if i schedule a recording, and put my box into standby, when the time comes to start recording, the box does nothing.
I understand that i can only record what im watching (only one feed), but surely scheduled times should work?

puzzled - isn't your flat big enough for the second feed?

Course it is - but the available outputs from the dish are being used by other people.
aaaaah - joint dish ... never thought

I don't know this as fact - but I had similar on sky+
high winds earlier this year knocked my epg off - both channels ok but jumpy -

the epg scheduled times seem to use the second input (I'd have expected either or both chanel to be able to provide epg

You won't damage your set - have you tried swapping lead to the second input?

although not 100% ideal.... give the second input a feed too

it's slightly limiting as sat tv stations are transmitted on either a vertical or horizontal polarisation which the LNB has to be set to for each channel, this will be controlled from input 1 on your sat box, so if your watching/recording a horizontal channel through input 1 you will only be able to record/watch other hotizontal channels on input two (same with vertical)
