Your going to holiday and taking your sky box with you!!!!

Why not just stay at home and watch TV and save your money on the holiday!

you do realise you will need to take the dish too, and then set it up so it's correctly aligned to the satellite?

Anyhow.... once you have removed the dish from the wall of your house, disconnected the sky box, taken the cable out that runs to the dish, packed it all in your car, got to cornwall, remounted the dish on the side of wherever your are staying, aligned it to the sat, re-run the cable to the box and connected it all up again then yes it will work without telling sky
You're going to Cornwall and you 'want' to take your sky Box - are you mad??? lol
Don't bother... there's bu88er all worth watching anyway... get outside in the fresh air instead...
p.s.

you could always take your sky box to the eden project while your there, I'm sure it would prefer the holiday if you took it out for a nice day somewhere and a chance to relax.
pmsl @ this question.

of course you need to tell sky where to send the signal.
I dont know the answer, but I think you're being a bit mean here!

We're going camping to Cornwall and taking a laptop with films that we're busy downloading to watch whilst we're there, especially during the evenings.

I'm sure like everyone, no- one's holiday is packed to the gills with activities 24/7, I fail to see what's wrong with watching a bit of TV, or in my case a film every now and then.

Hope you get a sensible answer soon Yvonne :-)

... or get Sky to send the signal to you before you go... take it with you then 'let if free' once you get to Cornwall...
tell them what route you plan to take to Cornwall too.
that is imperative
Hi Yvonne:

Yes, I believe you have to have their permission. Your Sky contract may explain, although I know it would be a pain trying to check through the small print.

Why not just contact Sky without revealing your details and just make a general enquiry about it?

Good luck.
Couldnt you afford to take your sky box abroad?

it would work here in the canaries and youd get 80 degree heat too!!

did that help ????
Would it not be simpler to have booked your accommodation somewhere that already has a sky box there?
Rollo... that would cause 'sky box jealousy'... anyway, maybe their Sky box needs a holiday too...
lol
I'll be camping in Norfolk this year, & the only entertainment I'll be taking is my radio, a few books & it will be great to have the time to read a newspaper properly
Some campers are now taking portable satellite dishes, tv's & I think you can buy a dishwasher now.
That was fair bait - Not a bad catch
carrust ..............don't you know the AB code?
you must post everyday when holiday , you will be sent to Coventry on your return if not
Good for you Carrust, pleased for you, I and obviously Yvonne however wouldn't mind watching a bit of TV occasionally, I still don't see why that is sneered at by the folk of AB.

Just because you read on holiday, it doesn't mean your holiday will be in anyway better than Yvonne's here.
Oh and don't bother telling sky, it will still work anywhere and they have no way of knowing that your sky viewing card is being used in another location.

Boo. I'm forgetting that big brother will be still on...silly me
