Some attachments to e-mails I send are being blocked with the message "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail". Why is this happening, and how do I get around it please ?

What kind of files are they? If they are .exe files then that would be a reason, as they are suspected of containing a virus. You's have to zip them and attach the zip file.
if they are not .exe files, what files are they?

They are " .doc", and I have been sending similar ones without a problem until very recently. Thanks for you interest.
You say this happens to messages that you sent. I assume that you then mean that it is the recipient who can't access them, rather than you.

They need to change the settings in their e-mail client. If it is OE, then:

Click Tools/Options

On the Security tab, uncheck the box that says "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus"

Some people assume the line above indicates that OE checks in some way to see if an attachment is infected, but really all it means is that ANY attachment that MIGHT under ANY CONCEIVABLE CIRCUMSTANCES contain a virus, is blocked.

rojash:
Recipients get my e-mail message but with no attachment.
When I look at the message in my sent folder, it tells me that "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail". So it looks as though the problem could be at my end, hence my appeall for guidance.
Follow my instructions at your end as well then.

Have now done that, so hope all will be resolved. Thanks once again
