I have Windows XP and my computer has recently had a new motherboard installed. Since then, the clock, date and time have to be resat each time I switch it on as it is stuck on September 2002. I go to the control panel (date and time) and each time change to current time and date and click 'apply'. This works for the duration of the session but when I disconnect the machine it reverts back to 2002 when I next reconnect. Has anyone any ideas please ?

If it's the same as mine there is an option 'internet time' in the date/time option which allows synchronisation with an external time source.

Pass if that doesn't work
you'll need to get into the bios and set it there

IF you dont know what your doing dont do it as altering anything in the bios APART from the clock can make the computer stop working.

If you need to know how to get into the bios have a look here
http://www.fixmypcuk.com/index.php?page=Bios

Follow the instructions on how to get into the bios then ignore.
The clock selection is on the 1st screen and it tells you at the bottom which keys to press to change it.
once your finished just exit saving changes.
Or your battery might be dead
if it's a new motherboard
3 things it could be

1 - who ever fitted it didn't shift the link to connect the battery
2 - it's an old model which has been sitting on a shelf for too long
3 - it's a second hand board ... and the battery has gone flat

It realy needs to go back
