my pc will not read or play cd

does the CD play in a normal CD player? was the CD created on a PC and if so what format are the files stored in? can you play other CDs on the PC?

It's simple
either the cd is scratched if its only one cd it won't read
or
the cd reader is faulty in which case you buy a new one
less than �20 and easy to install

have you tried to play the different cd on the computer?

may be the data stored in the cd is in different format.
may be the cd reader is creating some problem.

try to run different cd on the player.
