downloading adobe flash reader

for some reason my computer wont download the adobe flash player.i had it installed and other day i tried to play online bingo and wouldn't let me until i installed it,like i say its been working before(can it uninstall by itself?)so dont understand why its saying i haven't got it,anyway i
installed it again and it said it was successful,i reebooted the computer and still oding the same thing!does anyone know how or why this is happening?thanks

Flash Player has a nasty habit of not working, even though it remains installed. When you try to reinstall it the process is reported as successful but the old (non-working) files seem to take precedence over the newer ones (so Flash Player still refuses to work).

Go to Add/Remove Programs. Uninstall Adobe Flash Player Plugin, reboot your PC and then try a fresh installation.

thanks,im on windows vista and i dont know where the remove programs is?cant find anything on here im used to my old computer with normal windows!!haha!sorry im useless!cud you tell me where to look for it,thanks!

I have the same problem with Vista, a few weeks ago I posted a similar message. I got several replies, including one from Chris, but despite all the attempts to install it, I was not successful and I have given up trying.

Here's where (the equivalent to) Add/Remove Programs is hiding in Vista:

If uninstalling, and then reinstalling, doesn't work it might be necessary to try a repair installation of Vista:

hi,sorry to pick your brains again but i have found the uninstall programs thingy,adobe isn't coming up that i have it anyway!getting confused now!i presume the program is calles'adobe flash reader'?

On my ancient PC (running Windows ME and using Firefix as my browser) it shows as 'Adobe Flash Player Plugin'.

Mentioning browsers reminds me that it might be worth trying a different browser. (i.e. the problem might be with the way that Flash Player works, or doesn't work, with your existing browser). Firefox is vastly better than Internet Explorer:

try to again remove the adobe flash reader from the add and remove programs

Open Internet Explorer.
Choose Tools > Internet Options.
Select the Security tab.
Select Custom Level.
Find the section "Active X controls and plug-ins".
Set ' Download Signed Active X Controls' to Prompt.
Set 'Run Active X Controls And Plug-ins' to Prompt.

download the adobe flash player from the internet.
