Ok, I know I'm stupid but today my phone fell into bowl of water by accident now (obviously) it aint working at all. I retrieved it as quickly as possible once realised, but submerged for at least 10 secs. What are the chances it'll work once dried out or is it a gonna for good?! Will the simcard be any good now it been wet or will that still be usable? I feel lost without it. Will the sim card (used in N95) be usable in any other phone or only fit another N95? I'm sooo gutted,.

Something similar happened to my sony ericsson, my son threw it in the toilet!!

I put it on the radiator to dry it out and it did work after a couple of days, but the speaker must have blown or something as no sound comes out of it so it's a bit useless!

Did you get insurance?

Your SIM should still work in any phone as long as the phone's not restricted to a different network.
all sim cards are the same size , take the sim card out and let it dry , the phone MIGHT work once it has dried out.

I laugh now a my stupidity but so gutted as it my only form of communication, I'm lost without it. Trying to dry it out above rad (fingers crossed), otherwise gonna have to get another.
if after a week and it is still u/s you could sell it on ebay as a water damaged phone .

I knew what he'd done to minute I heard "Oh oh". He's only one so it was hard to be mad with him!!

I know a couple of other people it's happened to and they've still worked fine once it's had a few days to dry out - fingers crossed you've better luck than me then!

DrFilth, if sold as parts wld others be able to access info from my phone even if not fully working. I had some things saved to my phone rather than sim, thankfully most stuff on my sim though. Obviously wouldn't want anyone else accessing numbers, photos, videos, personal info as such.

Fingers crossed MissSpeedy..thanx
if you can't clear your memory you might be best keeping hold of it for yourself . you could use the battery and charger and keep the rest for spares. if you happen to damage your next one , the screen or case may come in handy

try to dry it out, best of luck
