were thinking of having spotlights fitted in our hall as we have a long hall but the light is situated at one end so by having spotlights we could throw the light across, however, the halogen one are supposedly quite expensive to run??? has any one tried basic spotlights with 50w max bulbs...ive only seen these in asda catalogue so far......any advise would be great

I believe they are now making low energy spotlight bulbs, but I don't know if they are any good

I have just fitted 20 of these said lamps in an industrial kitchen, yes they are a bit dull for a start but after 2-3 minutes they are as bright as a conventional 50 watt lamp but are only 11 watts each, also if you do convert to these lamps then go to your local electrical wholesaler, not B&Q as they don't stock the right ones, and get the Megaman equivalent, 11w CFL GU10 Model: BR0711i in cool white.....
