When I play DVDs in my Daewoo DVD/Video player, the volume has to be turned right up before I can hear them properly. We can hear our TV very well at a volume of about 15/20. With a DVD, we are having to go to 60 or even 100!! These are good quality DVDs.
Also, with a lot of DVDs, the size of the picture keeps flicking from one size to the other all the time. Why are these things happening?

Have a search through the player's menus and look for a "sound" one. You can probably up the output there.

The size is possibly changing if your TV can display different aspect ratios: mine does 4:3, 16:9, Zoom and Smart. The "smart" setting tries to guess the best setting, but often ends up jumping about like yours is doing.
