PC Disc Drive Not Working???

I just went to put a CD onto my computer and nothing happen, so opened up WMP and tried to RIP the CD but it just kept coming up 'CD Driver needed to rip a cd'....but it was working fine not that long ago....

I have listed my PC spec below, can somebody help??

Windows edition:
Windows Vista Home Basic
Service Pack 1

System:
Model: Dell Dimension C521
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 processor 3800+ 2.40GHz
RAM: 2.50GB
System type: 32-bit Operation system

Does it show up in 'my computer' ?
CD drives often fail to work due to dirt/dust, i look after 6 PCs at work and not one drive works even though they are hardly used. I know its due to the dirty enviroment they are used in, a good blow out / clean usually works.
Not certain this is your problem but worth checking...

The only things that show up in 'my computer' are
OS (C:)
RECOVERY (D:)
Removable Disk (F:) (G:) (H:) (I:)

Ill give it a blow and see what happens though
