I notice that when I turn off the power on my DAB radio I can still hear a faint humming noise going on inside the radio, it is still connected to the mains but supposedly off. Is this something I should be concerned about?, Is it still using electricity? Is this dangerous at all? I know I should unplug it from the mains but it is easy to forget this also inconvenient. Your knowledge about this problem would be appreciated.

sorry cant help you valjoan but i know what you mean as mine does the same, and as my i keep my radio in the bedroom i can hear it during the night, i have taken to just unplugging the lead from the back of the radio, as i cant get to the mains to unplug it because its behind a chest of drawers. will be interesting to see any answers.

Having prowled around some of the dab reviews on the net it would appear that the humming on some dab radios is quite a problem and most people say that it is due to a poorly designed power supply inside the box, the transformer affecting the amplifier probably and that ideally we need to buy better quality DAB radios. I would really like a Roberts but oh dear I can't afford to do that right now what with the recession and credit crunch. .
