I have bought a USB hub which requires my computer (bought about two years ago) to have a USB 2.0 port. How do I go about finding out which port my computer has?

A USB 2.O hub will work on a USB 1.1 port. But will only work to the 1.1 data transfer rate. A 2.0 device will warn that the port is slower than expected but will work anyway. Simply buy a USB 2.0 PCI card for your PC, the belkin one has a fireware port included too
Either right click My Computer > Properties > Device Manager (in Windows 9x) or right click My Computer > Manage > Device Manager (in Windows 2000/XP). Look under USB and you will see a USB 2.0 controller if you have USB 2.0 port.
