Pentax camera and Zoom len

I have a Pentax K100D SLR camera and a compatable Zoom lense. When I attach the zoom to the camera I am asked to select between 80 and 800 focal length. My zoom shows f = 70 - 210mm. Help please.

I do not appear to have automatic setting. The choice i between 8 and 800. I wonder if I should select something between 70 - and 210. I'll have to try various setings and compare results.

I have 'auto pict' but trying that does not make any difference..have been experimenting this morning and it seems that I get the best result when I select focal length'8'
