When I used to have an ordinary Sky TV box, it remained on 24 hours a day - which was how I liked it. I recently got a Sky Plus box and it switches itself off - goes into stand-by mode may be a more accurate description - overnight. So, when I turn my telly on of a morning, I have to turn Sky on too. Can I keep it on 24 hours (ie. stop it switching itself off) and, if so, how?

You can't I'm afraid. It's most annoying isn't it!

Your shows will still record regardless.

I miss the autoview function too.
You can disable the Auto Standby mode within the Services menu under 5 SKY+ SETUP
Really???

I phoned Sky asking how to do it when I first got it installed a couple of years ago and they said "you can't"

WOO HOO, You've just made my evening! LOL
I just changed it XXXXXXX to kempie!
Nice to see your doing your bit to save the planet.

Just to save you a few seconds effort to turn your Sky box on in the morning you are willing to have it on all night.

Good job we are not all so selfish.
