iPod doesn't sync podcasts

I have a second-hand iPod and a PC. After a long struggle I got my PC to recognise the thing in Windows and it syncs my music.

But I can't get it to sync a podcast. The error message says there is no disk. Any ideas, anyone?

have you tried the option on the podcast menu for your ipod to state which podcasts you want syncing?? i.e. sync last three podcasts, sync last four new podcasts.
i selected sync 10 podcasts and it synced all the podcasts i had subscribed to and downloaded.
