I have finally bought an mp3 player (an ipod shuffle), having bought a computer for home earlier this year. I wanted something simple, to take on holiday. Do I need to install ITunes into my 'puter before anything will happen when I plug the ipod in? I had (stupidly, it turns out) thought that when I plugged it in, the installation process & start up would, erm, start up! If I install ITunes then plug in the ipod, will the start up start up then? Thanks for any help you can give (I am so pleased nobody knows who I am on here, I sound such a dunce).

Download iTunes from here

Buy downloads or rip CDs into the iTunes library. Next time you plug in you iPod, your library will transfer from your computer, to the shuffle.
