I have a second hand mobile phone up for auction. I received a question from an eBay member with no feedback asking for me to send him the phone to have a look at it. I replied saying that I would not do this. He sent a message back saying that he will leave me negative feedback! (I know unless he buys the item he cannot do this). I ignored the message. I then received another one saying that if I send him my phone, he will send me another one in return. Again I declined and said that I wanted to leave the phone in the auction. He then asked if I had a buy it now price, I replied saying that I wanted to leave the phone in auction and if he wanted the phone then he would have to bid for it. He has just sent me another message saying that I am not treating him fairly and he is going to complain about me! Is there anything I can do? Also if he bids on my phone is there anything I can do, as I do not want to sell it to him. I know that sounds awful but his last message was quite abusive and I'm not sure if I trust him. Thanks for any advice. Daffi x

Hi Daffidazey you can block bidders http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/manage_bidders _ov.html#blocking
I would block this person if I were you, they sound weird.
That is disgusting, I would report this bidder, to save anyone else having the same unpleasant experience.
I have been using ebay for a couple of years, buying and selling, and have never come across anything like this.

Thanks for your reply, trish432. How do I report them? x
There is an option somewhere that you can report abuse.I ordered a parrot stand at 6 pm last night on buy it now and at 8 30pm doorbell rang and here was the lady with the stand .She thought as she was just about 15 miles away she would deliver it in person. How fast is that .Just had to comment.

I have been buying and selling on eBay for almost 2 years with no problem, then this person comes along! I found the report option and have reported him to eBay and have also blocked him from bidding on my phone. Thanks for your advice x
A parrot stand, wendilla? I expect youre on the look out now for a parrot to go with it?!
twenty 20 no I have got the parrot its a hannes macaw she nearly 6 months now and started talkiing.
I've been selling on Ebay with no bother except once when I was selling a mobile phone. Someone with no feedback won it and it turned out to be someone in Africa. I reported them to Ebay and they removed them immediately (they had been bidding on other phones as well).
Some people on ebay don't have a clue do they? This is unrelated but .... the other day I looked up some Body Shop moisturiser and found it on ebay for 25 when the Body Shop website has it for 24 and the ebayer had put on 2.99 postage when the Body Shop website does it for free! I thought, good luck selling that!

I have seen quite a few things up for sale above retail value, meglet. It does make you wonder what these people are doing and if there is people silly enough to pay those prices. Daffi x
Sorry daffydaisey, I`ve had a look round the site and can`t find the option. There are options for reporting, but different circumstances.
I would go to help, contact us, there is an option there for misuse of ebay.
daffidazey,

You have done the correct thing.

A problem shared is a problem halved.

Report these weirdo scammers. Can you share with us what action you took and how?

I blocked him form bidding on my phone using the link from lmao, then went to the help page of eBay and contact us link. Sent them an email with the messages he sent me. x
Be careful. We 'sold' a mobile on Ebay and we even recieved an email saying that funds had been paid into our Paypal account and we could now post the mobile. It was the first time I had sold anything, but thought it was unusual only because the email addressed me differently to other emails Ebay sent i.e. it used my surname instead of user name. I forwarded the email to ebay and they confirmed that it was spoof mail and I had not received payment.

I could have easily posted it thinking I had been paid and would have just lost the item. There is a big scam going on in Nigeria and they use bully tactics. I remember being very nervous too as they have all your address details etc

IMPORTANT- Don't reply to any emails or click on any links contained in them.

Good luck and don't let it put you off - I have sold lots since, but mobiles just seem to attract this type of scam.

Hi toby99! I always check my paypal account first, just to make sure the funds are in there. If I get a email saying I have a question from a buyer then I log into eBay and reply from there. I have never really had any problems until this bloke, he isn't really a major issue but he was aggressive which is why I wanted to report him.
Thanks for your advice. x
