CD-RW drive on my PC is malfunctioning (keeps opening/closing of its own accord) - help!

Can anyone help me - my CD-RW drive on my PC keeps opening and closing. The button doesn't work anymore either, you have to push it closed and right-click on the CD-RW icon & choose eject to open it. I tried restoring the system and that seemed to work at first but it quickly started malfunctioning again. Any ideas? Thanks, Steph

Here's an idea: you can get a DVD RAM drive for around 20 quid, so oik out your faulty CD-RW and replace it.
