have a new laptop with vista that has wireless.I bought a BT voyager 1500 wireless router today and am stumped!! the instructions don't make ant sense to me.I just want my laptop to access the net wireless.I have the ethernet cable plugged into my modem then to the router and its switched on! I have a connection to the router but cannot get a internet connection,what do i do?? not good at all this so please help.

the router plugs into the filter that's plugged into your phone socket. (it's a thinner cable with a smaller square plug - bung it in the back of the router (probably labled phone line).


you then need to plug your laptop into the router (probably a yellow ethernet cable)

open internet explorer .... enter 192.168.1.254

and then enter your details (id password etc)
just follow the instructions

disconnect the ethernet cable

then open control panel | network and sharing center
take the connect to a network option ..... and follow the instructions

when asked for your key .... enter the WEP number from the sticker on the back of the router.

... and you should be away

Thanks but the only ports in the back are for ethernet cables and im on broadband i forgot to mention.Hope that makes sense?

Going out for the night but any help is great and will try in the morning.The modem i have has just the screw in bit on the back that comes frome outside,i have no phone cable or anything like that.
