Any ideas on how I can enable PC to automatically find wireless router on loggin on without having to resort to Fn+F2 keys?

I assume you mean connections in your list.

I've got my network connections configured to show in the sys tray. I simply plug a network cable in if available - if not and switch the wireless on using the switch on the side.

because the icon is in your tray .... you can see it happen.

remember also that it takes 60 seconds or so for the connection to establish so it's not like switching on a light

Good morning AC I am still sitting in the open field, next to a reactor under power lines as you suggested and am soaked with the rain LOL.
I have put my question badly...I want to know how I can set my computer to access the Internet, wirelessly, when I log into my computer, without havin to resort to the Fn buttons. Have tried Control Panel..wireless network, but cannot find anything appropriate.

I'm feeling a little challenged this morning .... I'm missing something.

We currently look after 15 different model/brands of laptop.
They all have a switch on the side to turn the WiFi card on and off.

The slightly newer posher ones also support bluetooth ... and have an option to switch between Wi and BT (in our case with fn+F8).
HOWEVER by default the Bluetooth adapter is disabled in device manager....

(on the older BT machines ... both adapters are left on 'cause they don't have an Fn option)

In both cases there isn't any need for our muppets to select .... (they'd never remember)
basically once the machine is paired with an access point or router .... it just works.

The guys who use them generally don't have access to wire .... so
They turn up at a branch office ... switch the machine on .... and when the machine comes up ... it's just connected .... no keys .... no problem.

What effect does the Fnf2 have for you ... a window ... or just sw on the adapter?

In network places display network connections - right click your wireless adapter and see how many WAPs are listed - (delete any you don't need)

So if you always sit in the same field ... under the same pylon connecting to the same reactor ....

I can't say I know what else to suggest .... nor have I seen this question asked by anyone else.

..... anyone got any thoughts?

Hi AC, thought you would like to know that I have been in contact with "Support" at Fujitsu and a) there is NO wireless switch b) can only detect router with Fn F2 switch.
Thanks for your help and I am now getting out of this b...dy field.

well you loose some ... and you loose some .... we have 3 different fs models ... they all have switches!!!

.... did you know that fs are refusing to sell their kit to women now ?

..... apparently women and siemens don't mix!!
I found it a bit hard to swallow myself
