I have a 20Gb drive that is divided into "C" 5Gb, 'D' 7Gb and 'E' 8Gb. What I wish to do after re-installing windows and all the program files is to be able to make a complete copy of this 'C' drive. That if I ever incur problems I can delete and reinstall this (these CD-r) disks so as to make the 'C' drive as good and fast as when all the software was first put onto it. I find no matter how much I clean the registry files it is never as good as when the software was first loaded onto the system. Please help if you can?

I do what you want to do using Powerquest Drive Image Pro and a CD rewriter. Drive image Pro is run from a Dos prompt (not from within Windows) and allows you to create an image of any drive, with one minor drawback, you can't store an image on the drive that you are copying, nor can you write the image straight to CD. There is another limitation, at present the most that you can get on a CD is 700Mb, Drive Image allows you to compress the image by upto 50%, so you have to limit the amount of data on your C: Drive.
I understand though that DriveImage Pro does support CD spanning. In other words, should you need more CDs, no problem:
