AB ruining everything!

Okay, a slight exaggeration, but it's driving me mad. From my home PC, AB has been causing havoc for over a month now. I can open it (tried the usual and Beta versions), but as soon as I click on the link to any thread it shuts down all and any windows I have open. Every. Single. Time.
Does anyone have any idea why this happens? I've never had this problem when accessing any other website. Thank you, ws :o)
