My system still runs Windows 98SE which is quite adequate for my needs. However I have been wanting to adjust the multimedia properties and when I click on the multimedia icon in the control panel I get the message that "Window cannot load the file MSACM32.dll. You cannot view or change multimedia properties without this file". I searched for the file and found it where it should be . It seems OK and I have checked for viruses etc. Can anyone help me with why the system can't see this file?

cut the dll file and paste it somewhere else for now. download a new version of it here: http://dll.yaroslavl.ru/index.php3?lng=&in_char=M or google.com and search for it. Download it to the correct location where it originally was. It should work then. If so delete the old one.
