nintendo ds psp. they are without doubt bringing an end to family interaction and conversation. ive seen kids from 4 years up. they sit transfixed. they dont even speak to parents. when asked if they want food or a drink they grunt an answer. i did comment on this to a couple whos son and daughter were zombiefied by psps. i said " just as well those arent addictive eh ?" i think they failed to catch the sarcasm or satirical intention. ive also heard parents say . without his psp he just wont come out anywhere , he needs it. are we making our kids or letting them become , hooked on these games consoles and losing the conversation and interaction between kids and their family?

I think that for long journeys and things, they are a help, they just need to be used in moderation. As long as your children interact at other times, i don't see the harm in having them. My son becames exactly the same when playing with lego - he goes into a world of his own and grunts in response. However when he and his brother are playing on their PS2 - they are jumping about, laughing and interacting together. I think that there are good points and bad points - everything in moderation I think.

I personally don't have a problem getting them of it for dinner legend. Because they learned the hard way with the dinner in the bin and a hungry night! Don't have a problem anymore - lol.
