I've just signed up to Facebook and don't really know how it "works".

If I send a message to another member, is it only the two of us that can read it or can other people that view our individual pages also see the message?

I know that "The Wall" is viewable to all, but I'm not sure about messages.

If you send a message to just one person, then only you and that person can see it, but if you send the same message to several people, they can see all of the replies to it
yep, or if you post a message on the wall then everyone can see it!

Thanks folks.

I wasn't referring to "the wall" which I realise is like a public noticeboard.

I was on about when I use the "send message" option within another members profile.

Sorry to sound stupid, but..............can you please confirm that if I send a message to just one recipient using the "send message" option, then only the two of us can see any correspondence trail?

Thanks
Yep, as I said if you only send the message to one person then only that person can see it
