Can anyone help, I've got a dvd video combi which tapes on the vcr from the tv and plays dvd which I've bought. But what I want to do is tape from the vcr to dvd. It is a Samsung, and it just keeps popping out the blank dvds and wont record on them. Is it because I need to use only Samsung dvds. If so where can I buy them.

Have you formatted the dvds? Are you sure they're rewritable?
If it is just a DVD player then it wont copy ! What model have you got.

Thankx Bathsheba yes I do have rewriteable discs. Yes PaulN90 it is a dvd recorder combi, any other suggestions?
I sympathise with you, Noah- I struggled with my combi at first! Has the tape had its safety tab removed? Are you using DVD/RW disc?
Sorry, that should have been DVD+RW!
The recorder must be able to do DUBBING
Question Author
Bathsheba, it says in the manual to use dvd-rw not dvd+rw but what is the difference between these discs?
Sorry Noah- not been on AB all week. As far as I know, the RW means they are re-recordable, but I could be wrong. How have you got on with it? Any success?
Me again. That didn't answer your question, did it? As far as I can make out, dvd-rw is just an older type of dvd. You are able to rewrite on both types.
Try using a plain old DVD-R........that is, a record once only DVD............some machines are picky over re-recordables.......
