Connect your laptop to the router by ethernet cable - otherwise you may lock yourself out.

Open the router admin page - usually by typing

192.168.1.1

into the address bar.

I don't know what router you have - all have different layouts, but take your time to investigate all the pages and you will see the channel.

If your router is not secured you could be losing connection because somebody is logging in, accessing the admin pages and changing the settings.

Ethernet is a cable you use to connect pc to the router.

What is your current set up? How many pcs do you have and how are they connected to the internet?
