Virgin can come down a "phone line" or "cable" and you need to find out which you have.

Then you need to buy a router for a phone line (normaly marked ADSL I think) or a router for cable (normally marked as a cable router).

If you look at this page here from PC world, see it shows a section for "ADSL routers" and another for "Cable" routers.

Dont buy one until you are certain what type of Virgin line you have: ADSL or Cable.
Hi chelsea , I am with Virgin cable and have a Belkin Wireless G Router 2.4Ghz.11g
This produces excellent pick up for my lappy all over the house . :-)

Thanks for your answers :)

I have been looking on Ebay for one, and from the description in some of the listings it sounds like i need a DSL, not a ADSL?
At the moment the router connects to the laptop by ethernet.

Does that make any sense?
That's correct chelsea , a DSL .
