are ur speakers plugged in and turned on?
If its a PC running Windows check the sound settings. Look for a little yellow speaker in the bottom right by the clock. Right-click on it and Open Volume Controls. Make sure nothing is turned down or muted in there. Otherwise have a look at http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000208.htm (found through google.com).
Go to the Control Panel (start button and it should be in there) and in the sounds and audio devices if you go through each of the tabs make sure all the volume sliders are set properly on each page....If not that then you should use device manager to make sure there are no conflicts with your sound card.
Also in XP (but follow a similar process for other flavours of windows) check Start>Control Panel>Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices>Change the sound scheme. It is possible to set a sound scheme of "no sounds", and this may have happened.
