I can't get my Freeview box out of standby. The red light is on but other than that there's no sign of life.

The box itself has no buttons, other than a reset one, and I've tried new batteries in the remote control.

It's a Goodman's GDB3.

This is a problem with some set-top boxes. I've had this on a Goodmans and on a Thompson. Unplugging from the mains, leaving it 10 minutes, and plugging in again has always cured it, (till the next time!). Simply plugging it back in straight away often doesn't work.
