I have mislaid (lost) my mobile phone.I have done all the usual search ideas and rung it several times the battery must now be flat. Is it possible to buy a new phone and keep my old number?

not usually without the original sim card.
Oh yes you can.

I dropped my Tesco pay as you go down a portaloo, and strangely enough didn't fancy getting it out again.

I rang Tesco and after a few questions to confirm (eg how much did you last top up, when and how) they sent me a new sim with the old number.
You definately can if your on a contract, all you have to do is contact your network supplier, they might charge you thou
