Learning about Wireless/Wired networking

I am wondering where the best place would be to start learning about networking (especially wireless home networking).

I have set up my own wireless network with file and printer sharing but if anything went wrong, I wouldn't know where to start.

I want to learn how to fault find and remedy network/internet problems. Do I need to learn TCP/IP?
