Xbox 360 cord query ...

My friend bought an xbox 360 about 8 months ago (in Australia) and he has been using it on a plain old CRT Tv ever since.

Just today he bought a HDTV and we were looking forward to getting the higher resolution but even though on the side of the xbox box it has a picture of component cords the system did not seem to come with any.

Also (and I find this strange) there is a little switch near the end of the standard composite cord (which came with the system) which has a little switch for "TV" or "HDTV"

Surely switching it over to HDTV would have no impact on the picture quality as they are just standard composite cords.

Am I missing something obvious here?

If we do need to buy a component cord how much do they ususally run at?

Thanks for your time.

On the cable you received there should be Red/White/Yellow cable and then there should be Blue/Green/red, You put the Blue/Green/Red cable in your HD tv and on the xbox set the display settings too 720p.
