How does an iPod store music - it seems so diddy!

Music is stored in a compressed format - mp3. It takes up very little space compared to the standard audio file on a cd.

The difference in quality is virtually undetectable to an untrained ear, but is obvious if displayed on a graph. Mp3 is good enough for most people. :)

And the actual storage hardware is either a hard disk drive, like in a laptop, or flash memory, just like the little flash drives you can buy.
